    I was re-installing WinXP without formatting and installing from scratch.

    I got within 15 minutes of completion and got this message:
    --------------------------------------------------------
    UNREGMP2.EXE - Entry point not found
    X The procedure entry point GETIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDARIT.DLL ----
    OK
    ---------------------------------------------------------- :eek:

    I may have a spelling error in that message. I wrote it down and my handwriting just attacked me

    ==============
    I have restarted that computer hoping it may get past that point but it is still installing.

    You may find a solution in the below forum thread.

    (Is it ok to post other forums threads as refs in here?)

    http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic12158.html

    look at the first reply. This has worked for other people.

    The problem is caused by the fact your Windows Media Player had been updated in your previous install, and it has trouble overwriting it during re-install with the old version on the CD. The unregmp2 stands for Unregister Media Player 2.

    Its trying to uninstall your new version of media player to put the old one back on and failing. Dont know what the "2" means.

    This problem never occurs during new instals (formatted disk) and only happens during repair installs.

    Good Luck!
