First make sure the Lexmark is designated as the default printer: Control Panel>Printers, right click on the Lexmark. If "Set as default printer" is an option in the menu that opens, click on it. If that line does not appear, the Lexmark is already set as the default.

Then open a document in the word processor. Don't click the print button but instead click on File, then Print. In the window that opens, make sure the Lexmark is selected. If it's not, click on the Lexmark once to select it, click Apply to save the selection or, if there is no Apply button or you want to print the document, click OK.

Do the same with the browser...go to File>Print and make sure the Lexmark is selected, click Apply.
