    Hi to all,

We cannot print to a shared printer on the network !.
Both PC's are new running Winxp pro SP2 with Norton Internet Security. The Epson D88 is connected to 1 PC( through USB) and then sharing allowed (share name: epson).
On the second PC we added it as a network printer and this all goes fine but when we try to print from the network PC it will not print. The print job just goes into the queue.
We have disabled Norton from starting so its not the firewall and the windows firewall is switched off.
    Can anybody help pls......

There is this guide on the epson site. So it looks like you should be able to share the printer (some printer drivers won't support network connection).

I notice there are a number of drivers. Often basic drivers work over a network better than more "sophisticated" drivers. I'd avoiding try to use the Easyprintmodule over the network. I'd suggest trying the 5.5cs drivers.

Are you connecting from the host to the printer via USB. If so, try changing to parallel connection and see if that makes any difference. Probably not, but worth a try.

I also did not have much luck sharing a printer either.

I had an HP Printer hooked to this XP Pro machine that I TRIED sharing. It did not work well at all. Especially when I would forget and shut this machine down.

I got fed up with the problem and got a Networkable Printer and Plugged it into the Router. NO MORE SHARING. Now any machine can print at anytime regardless of the status of the other machines.

Installing NICS and a Router is one of the best things I ever did. Each machine ( 2 98SE and 1 XP Pro) is COMPLETELY independent of the other. Although I could still share if I wanted or needed to.
