Windows Vista Cannot Play Video In Web Browsers

    I have Vista Home Premium x84 and ever since i have installed service pack 1 i cannot play any videos in browser that require the windows media player plugin. nothing comes up when i try to play all i get is a blank box where the video should be. no controls nothing. i use firefox and have reinstalled several times but i also have the same problem in IE7. PLEASE HELP ME!!
