    Welcome to the Forum, JCL!

    Hi JCL,

    First try this:
    Close Netscape and Quick Launch
    Open Windows Explorer
    Navigate to:
    C:\Program Files\Netscpe\Netscape\components
    Delete the compreg.dat file

The file will be rebuilt when you next open Netscape

    With Netscape open
Click on Tools | Download Manager
    Press Ctrl+A
This will highlight all files in the list
Click on "Remove from list "

    Next:
Click on Edit | Preferences | Navigator | Helper Applications
Do you have a MIME type entry like this:
    application/vnd.ms-powerpoint

Do you have this entry: application/octet-stream
    If so, delete the entry

Let us know if any of the above help.

    Ramona :D

    Hi JCL,

So glad that the solutions worked for you! I'm curious as to whether you had to try all three, or if deleting compreg.dat did the trick.

    Happy browsing,

    Ramona :D
