cannot open desktop shortcuts

    After update of firefox in windows 7 home computer, existing icons on desktop will not open programs (ccn, msnbc,etc). Had worked correctly up to point of updating-have done restore option but still same problem. when click icons, blue circle goes around for about 1 second then nothing happens- any ideas?:confused:

    I'm assuming you mean Internet shortcuts rather than general (eg application) shortcuts?

    What happens if you open Firefox from the start (orb) menu?

    Fairly sure this question belongs in the Firefox, Thunderbird & Seamonkey part of the board though.
