Normally, when viewing an email I can double click on the senders email address and open the associated contact record. As of a couple days ago, I cannot do this for newly added contacts. In other words, if I get an email from a contact that I added to my Outlook a while ago, I can double click on the email address to open the contact. But for a contact that I created within the last few days, double clicking the address just opens up a new contact window, as opposed to the contact item that was previously set up. I have tried re-indexing, and I have also tried re-creating the respective contacts by right clicking on the email address, selecting add new contact, etc. But I still can't seem to open the contact from the email.

My .pst file is located in users/owner/AppData/local/Microsoft/Outlook

    Any ideas? Thanks.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

Which version of Outlook are you using?
My Outlook 2003 doesn't seem to have the option you're talking about.

Have you tried rebooting the PC?

    Hi davecarlson,

Thanks for posting back, but for other users with the same problem, which one of the two suggestions I made did the trick?

Running the inbox repair tool corrected the issue for me. Thanks again.
