Hope this is in the right place...

I have WinXPsp2. I also have Windows Media Player11. It works generally...if I double click a wma on my hard drive WMP opens and I get music.

But if I go to amazon.com and try to sample a song, I get a pop-up that has what looks to be an older version of Windows Media Player and nothing happens. f I right click on the windwo and click on "error details" I get an error message saying "Windows Media Player cannot open. You may need to reboot to complete installation of a downloaded component. Please verify that the path and filename are correct and try again. (Error=C00D0005)"

Anyone know what I have to do to correct this situation?

    thanks..

I was able to hear some samples...My pc automatically used their web player....Went into their help section and found the following:

Music Sampler is only available for users of Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and above for Windows and Mozilla Firefox 1.5 and above for Windows and Mac OS X. These browsers offer users the rich media experience of Music Sampler that is not supported in earlier web browsers.

Can't Play Clips or Connect to the Server?

If you are experiencing difficulty listening to song samples, you may want to consult the help section for the player you are using.

Samples can be played using the Amazon Music Sampler or Windows Media Player. If you do not already have Windows Media Player installed, you can find free download and support information at:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/

You might have more success playing samples at a different time, especially if you are attempting to play them between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Pacific Time. These are generally the peak hours of Internet usage, and high network traffic may be the cause of the problem.

If you're accessing the Internet behind a proxy or firewall, commonly found in a corporate or academic setting, you may persistently experience difficulty playing samples. We recommend accessing music samples from another computer that is not connected to that network.
