   I have tried to install a important update MS08-0687 and other failed updates from the microsoft site, when I click download, i get a message from a standalone your system does not need this update. I did a update from check from the security center and it says i do not need any updates. Is there a problem

   No, if Windows Update says you don' need the update...... you don't need it. If you are up-to-date, you would have already have MS08-0687 installed.
