cannot install roxio ezcreator

I did have EZ installed and had to re-install XP. Now I had to re-install to make all the internal links. I get just so far and the install pack wants me to reboot. No surprise about that need to set the registry

However, the reboot comes up back at some other point in the install. When I continued, I got the same command to reboot. Again, the to the same point !

I can't seem to get past that. After a couple of these, I tried Add/Remove thinking there may be something in there that's locking. Roxio was not listed there.

I am at another try now. I went thru Regedit and removed all the Roxio entries--- took over 1/2 hour. Is there another registry editor that would work more like any other text editor. I know this is a second question but another app would help me in general.
