    I looked at most of the postings re: this issue, and didn't see any; so I hope I'm not being redundant asking this.

    I had reformatted my HDD and had bkd'up my old NS4.7 profile, etc. I wanted to make a clean new install of NS7.0 with no remnants of 4.7. I've been able to import my old bookmarks, and address book, but only because they allowed me to browse to them. As you know, the import procedure for the old folders, for some reason, does NOT let you browse, so I don't have any way to get to them. I've also tried to find where NS7.0 keeps it's NEW mail folders with no success. If anyone could tell me even where THEY are, and I could Copy/Paste my old ones there.

    Thanks Much,

    George Lea

    Welcome to the Forum, gplea!

    Hi George,

    Depending on your OS, following are the locations of the Netscape 7.0 Profile folder:

    Windows 2000/Windows XP
    C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\profilename\xxxxxxxx.slt
    NOTE: These files are hidden by default.

    Windows NT
    C:\Winnt\Profiles\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\profilename\xxxxxxxx.slt

    Windows ME
    C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\profilename\xxxxxxxx.slt

    Windows 95/Windows 98
    (If Windows login password protection is disabled)
    C:\Windows\Application Data\Data\Mozilla\Profiles\profilename\xxxxxxxx.slt

    If you wish to convert your Mail Filters from Netscape Communicator:

    The file is RULES.DAT, but modification is required for NS7.

    Using the same file, here's how it starts in NS7, after being migrated
    from 4.7x.

    version= "8 "
    logging= "no "
    name= "HTML "
    enabled= "yes "
    type= "1 "
    action= "Move to folder "
    actionValue= "mailbox://hb@pop.hevanet.com/HTML "

    Here's how it looked in 4.7x...

    version= "6 "
    logging= "no "
    name= "HTML "
    enabled= "yes "
    description=" "
    type= "1 "
    action= "Move to folder "
    actionValue= "HTML "

    Some users have reported success, after making changes. Personally I was successful in all but one filter. It may be that you will have to create a new file in NS7.
