cannot get a screen?Any ideas?
Problems continue! Grrrrr!
A few days ago,I was able to load XP home,CDRW-DVD configuration-was perfect.
Then I mounted M/B in the box ,but was getting a short,from M/B to metal case, so after many experiments,solved short problem,but had to clear CMOS to get PC powered up again,now I get powered up,but cannot get a screen?
Any ideas?
This is an integrated M/B by PC chips,a new PC Chips M787CL+ Motherboard
VIA gigaPro, 733MHz CPU
256MB- SDRAMM-memory
SiS 630E Chipset
3D 256bits AGP Graphics Accelerator
all embedded in M/B

 

Cannot get a screen means no boot? Do you get any beeps? Does the HDD run? Floppy light on?

If you get nothing at all, the MB is probably toast. Take it to computer tech and have it checked.

Maybe the MB is good but CPU is shot or the Ram destroyed. There are just too many possibilities after a short like that.
