['cannot find this web page' error when clicking link in Windows Mail]

    I have a computer running Vista 64 bit and windows mail. If i click on a link to a web page in an email, IE8 immediately opens up with the message 'cannot find this web page '. If I then click on the link again, the web page then comes straight up. what could be causing this problem.
