    Hie

I have a problem and please help.

When i try to open websites using my internet explorer 6, im always getting this message, '' Cannot Find Server - Microsoft Internet Explorer''. I use Windows XP.

I have reformated my hard drive and reinstalled XP but no success. I also have Norton Antivirus 2007 which i always update in case of viruses and ad/spyware.

The SSL and TSL settings on security are unchecked. Previously my computer had viruses before i did all the above and they were cleaned. I have heard that it can be a problem in system registry where there are values that need to be deleted. How can i do this and which values are those.

Please help me out of this situation.

    Thanks in advance

    Try this:

    Open a command prompt

    Type: ping 74.125.19.104 (press Enter)

next type: ping www.google.com (press Enter)

If the first works, but the second doesn't (both pings should reach Google), check the DNS server IP entries in your TCP/IP properties and make sure the IPs are present and correct.

Another thing to check: open your Internet Options control panel applet. Select the Connections tab and click the LAN Settings... button; make sure the automatically detect settings option is checked.
