Whenever I try to email a picture from my picture folder, a note comes up saying, "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Program control panel." Would be thankful for any help with how to do this..

In order to send an email from your computer would require an email program to be installed and setup on your computer.

Microsoft Office Outlook is one email program that can be installed on your computer.

    Microsoft's Outlook.com is a free web-based email service, not a program.

Thanks very much James. I got it to work by following the directions on the link you supplied. There was no "Insert" and I had to click on "Attachment'" which brought up my picture file and I was then able to choose whichever photos I wanted to send. [Since last year I had set up about 80 persons in my email account and I send and receive emails every day... it was just that I couldn't get pictures to be emailed] Thanks again!

    You're welcome, Beach Boy.

Windows' options can be confusing at times. ;)

There are ways around this to, for example, make gmail or yahoo mail (web-based email programs) your default email, but it typically requires installing a loader (often a toolbar add-on).

One commercial product that appears to work well is Affixa. Note the basic version is free for personal use.

Even then though, the email is actually being sent from Gmail's or Yahoo's computers.

Maybe I should reword: Windows Explorer cannot perform the "right-click" > "Send to" > "Mail recipient" until a program is installed and setup on your computer to handle the action. ;)

    That is true.

And I agree with the rewording too. Though there is the assumption the user has already setup the web-based email account(s) - I hate to assume, and that one seems like a given, but I thought I would mention it anyway. ;)
