    How can I disable the on-screen keyboard? It always appears at Windows startup before entering User Password.

    I already tried:

    1. Click on the Ease of Access button on the lower left corner and uncheck the "Type without the keyboard (On-Screen keyboard) ", then click the Apply button or OK button. (I can't do Apply then OK. I can only do Apply/OK, then Cancel).

    2. Control Panel > Ease of Access Center > click "Use the computer without a mouse or keybaord > ensure the Use On-Screen Keyboard is unchecked > OK.

    After Windows 7 reboot, the On-Screen Keyboard annoyingly appears again!

    It's Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

    Try running rhe Ease of Access Centre with elevated Admin rights ....

    Orb > type in Ease of Access in the Search box > right click on Ease of Access at the top of the program list > Run as Administrator .....

    Hi Pete,

    Thanks for your advice. However, it didn't work that way.

    I believe it's a bug of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, because I cannot repeat the problem in Windows 7 Professional 64-bit where a small keyboard-shaped icon appears next to the Ease of Access icon on the Log-On screen.

    I eventually found a work-around method to solve the problem, as below:

    1. Create a new user account (e.g. SuperMe) as an administrator;
    2. Switch to SuperMe;
    3. Choose to apply the Ease of Access profile (without On-Screen keyboard) to all users;
    4. Log off SuperMe;
    5. Restart the PC;
    6. The On-Screen keyboard now disappeared from the Log-on screen;
    7. Log on as the original user account (having administrator's rights), and delete the SuperMe user account.
