I have a 2nd HDD in my machine that used to be the primary drive in another computer. I installed it as a slave in this machine and through Disk Management was able to consolidate and reformat the partitions except the OEM Partition. Disk Management won't let me at it.

Is there a secret way to delete the OEM so that I can use it for data or do I need another bit of software?

    Thanks in advance

To my knowledge, w7 / Disk management can not.
You would need to use a 3rd part tool. I use Acronis Disk Director (not free), has never let me down.
I found Partition Manager, a free tool. Have NO working knowledge of this software, but Home page has a lot of awards.
Be sure you backup drive before you attempt to remove partition.

    Thanks Dennis

I was about to purchase Acronis Disk Director when I thought of using plain old fdisk to do the entire drive (haven't used it in a while and had to rig up a USB FDD to access it on my machine). The disk is now sitting in a clean but unallocated state so I am going to download Parted Magic and give it a try - I shall report what happens.

    Thanks
