I am having a problem deleting a couple desktop shortcuts. The shortcuts are itunes and quicktime. I have deleted the programs from my computer using the add/remove program. However, for some reason these two shortcuts were not deleted and I cannot delete them as when I try to I get a message stating I don't have privilages and it may be used by another person or file. I also cannot install itunes due to this same issue as when I try to install itunes I get an error message stating "error 1321 you dont have sufficient privilages to remove file c:\documentsandsetting\allusers\desktop\itunes.ink"

It appears the new itunes sftware will not over write these two shortcuts as the install always stops at "creating shorcuts ". Please tell me how to delete these two files. My brand new ipod is waiting!! Thanks, Mugsy19

By the way I am logged on as the system administrator.

    Strange.

Try deleting these in Safe Mode. If even that fails download 'Remove on reboot' from http://www.bjb-inc.com/products.asp, install it & select the files you want to delete. These would be (hopefully) deleted on next reboot.

    Good luck.

    Remove on Boot

I tried the program recommended and when I right clicked on the shortcut, windows goes searching for the itunes.exe and cannot find it...resulting in the program not being added to the Remove on Boot task. What next? I am going to try to manually find the program for Windows to point to.

    Stranger.

Right clicking on a shortcut should not start search for the program. Check your system for spyware/virus. Run chkdsk /f on hard disk.
