    I am using Windows 95 and have 10800 old Emails in my Inbox folder. A week ago I got the suggestion to compact but when doing it a message said:
    "Cannot compact. An error has occurred "
    Then trying to Delete again the alert was:
    "The messages cannot be deleted. An error has ocurred "
    Then I tried to MOVE some Emails to the Delete folder, or to any folder, but again:
    "The messages cannot be moved. An error has ocurred "
    WHAT CAN I DO? All the Inbox content is frozen. I can receive Emails but do not want to increase the already humongous folder.
    Please help.
    THanks.

    Goto tools-->options-->maintenance-->store folder

    copy path it shows to clipboard -- goto explorer --paste the path --- cut and paste the *.idx folder for inbox (or which ever folder has most emails) to a directory or folder outside the store folder and reboot. You can also try renaming the folder. for example inbox.idx becomes inbox.old
