    Hi
I am using a Toshiba Satellite Laptop with Windows XP.
I have a Linskys router in my house and all computers connect to the internet through the Linskys router.
    This includes the Toshiba laptop.
All of a sudden, I cannot connect to the interent any longer on the laptop.
What is strange is that it shows I am connected, and, in fact, Skype is connected.
I can send and receive Skype messages.
But when I try to open a browser..any browser( Netscape or IE), it cannot find any web pages.
does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
    thanks
    Barbara

On the Toshiba Satellite Laptop ....
First check what your default Internet Options, Connection for IE is set at (should be the same as your other computers). IE and most 3rd party browsers default to this setting.
Does the Toshiba Satellite Laptop have a firewall installed?
    If yes, check rules.
Following has some risk - your choice to use suggestions
If your router has NAT and is active, you could disabled your firewall briefly (now trying connecting with laptop) for a quick check for firewall interference.
