    Hello! I'm having trouble with my internet. I'll give you more details when people begin asking for them. But bottom line:

    I get, 80% of the time I want to go somewhere on the internet, a cannot connect to remote server error, doesn't matter what web browser I use. The other computers on the network do not get this error at all, it's just mine. IMs and Skype work fine, but internet browsing, Shoutcast, vbs scripts I made to fetch info from the internet, and my internet radio station do not 80% of the time.

    Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Does this happen after the pc as sat idle? The network adaptor has a sleep mode feature that is turned on by default.

    No it happens when I'm active too, but I'll give it a try. How do I shut off the sleep mode feature?

    Device Manager->Network adaptor properties.

    Thanks for the suggestion, but it did not help. I still get the "cannot connect to remote server" error 80% of the time.

    July 7 2010:

    I checked Event Viewer and saw the WinHTTP Proxy service was turning on and off. So I set it to automatic and turned it on. I'm still getting errors from my internet radio station saying it cannot resolve hostname or IP address.

    Also cleared internet cache. That did not help either.
