cannot connect to other computers on my network

Hi All,
I cannot connect to computers on my network. i think it has something to do with the firewall because when i turn it off i can connect. is there a port i need to open?

Hi brad livesay, Welcome to WindowsBBS. We need more info. What OS are you using? Are all the comps the same? Your System Details would help as well.

 

Are you using a 3rd party firewall or Windows internal one ?

 

sorry i guess i forgot to hit reply lol. anyway, both computers are running win10 64bit and both have unique names. i am using the windows firewall.

 

Most of the firewalls should be configured to allow network access. Check that the network connection is not set to "Public' in either of the computers as it would disable network access by default. You would have to change it to "Private".
