    Hi Friends,

i'm running flash, php, mysql, with apache for win32 on my PC(running windows 98). Everything works fine, the problem is this:

everytime i need to view a dynamic page, i need to go online/dial-up first via modem before i can view or interact with the dynamic page. otherwise internet explorer gives a "working offline" message and doesn't connect to localhost server.

I just want to run everything locally on my personal machine! why do i have to be online to do this? is there someway i can run dynamic pages without going online?

    Thank you, woktoc

What you're asking for can't be had.

When you play with yourself, you get no help from others. You'll have to connect to the outside world to get updates.

What you want would be like having all the benefits of the Internet and not having a connection or having to pay an ISP for it.

I wish it could be that way too. :) Would save me $49.95/mo.

I get the impression that woktoc is trying to do some web development and view the results. I missed the part about updates. It sounds like woktoc is building a data driven and thus dynamic site and is in the testing process.
Not that I have an answer to the problem. I would try installing a cheap NIC and assigning it an IP in a non-routable segment (e.g.,10.10.10.10) and use PWS to publish the site on that interface. Not at all sure if this will work but it might be worth a shot.
If I have misunderstood the problem, I apologize.
