Cannot change system time

The system time on my PC is about 14 minutes off & I cannot seem to change it.

I have tried logging in a administrator, booting in both Safe & VGA mode, turning on/off Time Service, etc...

The specific message I get is:

You do not have the proper privlege level to change the System Time.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

Try downloading an NTP client and set it that way.
When you login as administrator, are you able to create accounts?
Check your local security policy.

 

You're logging on as administrator on the local machine or the domain?

 

It took a while reading various doc, but I managed to corect the problem by having my system sync time with the US Naval Observatory.


From a command line:
net stop w32time
net time /setsntp: "192.5.41.209 "
net start w32time

 

Well that should keep it straight from now on!!

I'm still curious as to why it wouldn't let you manually change it...
