    Hey all

I am running Windows XP with SP2 and trying to install a Content Management System called DotNetNuke. During the setup procedure it requires you to set the file permissions to the directory where the DotNetNuke installation resides. To do this I right click on the folder where it resides, click sharing and security. However, I now need the security tab to change the permissions, but the tag doesn't exist. Why? The only tags that are present are General, Sharing, Web Sharing and Customise. Where is the security tag?

    Thanks

You have to turn off Simple File Sharing to get the Security tab, but this option, I believe, exists only in Pro edition.

Open any folder and click tools>folder options>view. Uncheck use simple file sharing.

For those that are using home you can get the security tab too but you need to boot to safe mode to do it. Boot to safe mode, log on to any admin account and it should be available as long as you aren't using simple file sharing.

Also make sure the you're using NTFS for the disk. FAT/FAT32 volumes can't use permissions.
