cannot access some websites with netgear wgr614 v.6

Hi All,
for some reason, i can no longer access my website members.cox.net/username. i made no changes to my router and i have no secondary firewall (software based). i can access the website when i go directly into the modem. please help.

 

First thing to try is to use tracert to see how close you can get.

So if you want to trace the route to www.google.com, you'd type this at a command prompt:

TRACERT WWW.GOOGLE.COM

The list of addresses that is returned gives you the addresses of the routers the connection passes over. If you fail to reach the target there are a number of reasons:

1. The tracert doesn't get anywhere, and returns an error saying that it couldn't resolve the name. You have a DNS name resolution problem.
2. The tracert gets to you interent router but no further. The is a problem with the router. Either it is having a problem connecting out, or it is configured incorrectly.
3. The trace gets beyond your router but stalls out on the internet. The problem is outside of your network. Contact your ISP for help.

 

thanks for the reply, but i think it was the ISP, because all of a sudden the next night i was able to get to my site.
