I never visited the site, and it looks great. I was not asked to do anything special.
I have used SM1.1.7, and SM2.0a1pre. The results have been equally good.

The link worked and the page showed up fine for me. I'm using SM version 1.1.4, if that makes any difference.

That is strange. I'm using SM v1.04, and I also have No-Script. But I enabled all the scripting but can still not get the whole page, only the top.

SM is so good, I forgot I had it open!!

I opened SM to do the test, for you, and, you know, the SM browser is so good, I forgot I had it open and just went about my business.

I keep all of my bookmarks up to date, user id's and passwords, etc.

I use the Netstripe theme for the FF default. It's kinder to the eyes. But, if I get tired, I just switch to SM where I have the Mostly Crystal theme which is nice and bright.

FF is my default, esp now that NN9 is not being developed (although I have no fear of NN9 and use it also); but SM is just not any kind of problem.

OK, I upgraded to SM 1.1.7 and I can see the page. It was probably No-Script that was causing the problem. When I upgraded the browser, No-Script disappeared because it is in the guts of the old browser.

Noscript has been known to create problems. You, really, have to keep it on a short leash.
How can one start Seamonkey in safe mode? Or can one do that? -safemode did not work for me. The idea is to disable Themes and Add-ons.

Which comments? The ones in the "stickies" section?

    Bob,

Sorry, I didn't refresh my browser, and didn't see that you had solved your problem by installing 1.1.7. I thought my reply redundant, and deleted it. This is what I suggested, which you may have already done:

Check in Edit | Preferences | Privacy & Security | Images
    Enable: Accept all images

    Edit | Preferences | Advanced
    Enable Java

Edit | Preferences | Advanced | Allow Scripts to:
    Disable all options (6)

    Edit | Preferences | Advanced | System
Enable: HTML Documents, http (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), and
    https (Secure HTTP)

BTW, the use of the profile name in the target for a new version of SM to avoid the profile manager at the startup, is a genius move, Ramona, that saved me much anxiety!!
Thank you for providing the method to do it.

I don't know, for sure, where the by-pass info was, originally, reported, by View|Page Info on that page indicates that it first came out in 2004 (Hey, Ramona! It will expire in May (I think) 2008). I have used that tactic when there were three different versions of NS7.x. Each was installed in a different folder, and I was able to access the correct build with a different profile.

    Ray,

See this Solutions page: How to Bypass the Profile Manager.

Altho written for Netscape 7.x, currently useful for SeaMonkey, NN 9.x, Firefox, and Thunderbird.
