Is there anyway to open your own? For me, it always says it cannot open because it's in use by another application. I'd like to open it 'cause I've been trying to learn all about IE.

You can also boot to another user account and look at it from there. If you only have one user you can boot to safe mode and logon to the administrator account. This would allow you to view it.

Super Mallow--From what I have heard, it is not advisable to make any changes to an index.dat file other than deleting its contents when also you delete the items it applies to (those in the same folder).
