IN my C:/Windows folder I find these folders

    PerfLogs
    ---System Volume Info
    -----Restore ( 6aXXXXXXXX )
-------RP1030 with only two files in it.

All the above are dated 2/21/07 thru 2/25/07

Shuting down and restarting SR seems to have no effect on this.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------
    Lower down

    System Volume Information
    --Restore ( XXXXXXXXXXXX )
----RP 1284-- Loaded with files dated 10/18/07 thru 10/20/07. ( the date the last SR was created )

    Now the question.

Can the folders/files above the dash line be saftely removed. I ask because as some of you may know I need to watch free space carefully.

Before getting help in another post and doing some cleanup work I could not keep PowerDesk and this site both open. I can now.

    Hi BB

PerfLogs (.etl files) are Windows Performance logs - they are not needed.

You can prevent them being written by setting the Performance logs and Alerts Service to Manual - this is the default setting so not quite sure why you are seeing them unless the Service is set to Auto.

To be on the safe side rename the files before deletion and if all OK then delete them.

Good Morning from BillyBob the Gambler.

The files refered to previously and a few other no longer used items have been tossed into the trash bin. And I am still here LOL !!!! And it is also seems amazing how much smoother this old thing runs. So I guess that a little house claening once in awhile helps.
I just wish that fixing my Wife's bad shoulder was that easy. Gotta go help her.
    Thanks again for the help.

    Hi BB

You take care of Nancy - I'm sure the computer will look after itself for a while with all the care you've lavished on it over the years :)

    I sure as heck will.

The PC better look after itself because it is getting less & LESS of my attention.

Morning dishes are done. Mail checkled. Nancy taken care of. ( other things can wait to tomorrow.) Gotta go plan Dinner. Then NAP time.

Dinner is done ( it was good even though I did cook it )
I just did some checking and found that the two songs that I point to in my previous post have been around darn near as long as I have. Only a year or two shorter.
:) They made some great stuff back then didn't they ? :)

My day is made BIG TIME.

I was just messing around with the second link I posted previously when someone walked by.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and heard " I LOVE YOU TOO. "
Then I also heard. "Do you want to try beating me at Cribbage ?" Now that is a different tune all together.
    Answer "Yes Dear. Anytime."
Win-Lose or draw it is still a GREAT way to share our time.

Now that's a ststement from the heart!
Many wives would say, "Want to get your arse whooped at cribbage?" or "C'mon honey, see if you can beat me this time." or "If you can beat me then maybe you'll get lucky later on! ".

    Good Morning TonyT

Thank you for putting a smile on my face early in the day.
Our kids are more likely to speak as you say but not Nancy.

And more than likely I could not handle later on any better anyway.

    Nancy is calling
    Gotta go.
