    I am using XP-Pro.

I know you can manually change the column sort order of the Task Manager Processes columns from High to Low (which only makes sense to me) by double clicking on the column.

Since it doesn't save my revised sort order, is there any way it can be permanently changed so I don't have to do it manually every time I open the darn thing?

In XP - no, but this feature is included in Vista's Task Manager, and presumably Win 7's too.
