Resolved Can not remove obsolete icons from desktop

    This is my sister's computer and before I did any work I ran the malwarebyte scan and the Superantispyware scan. The computer is a HP
    a1209n, 3.06 GHZ 1 MB RAM OS Windows XP home .
    She had some pictures that came in a Microsoft Word file and moved them to her desktop for easy access and make some changes. Now that she is finished with the files, the icons can not be deleted. See attachment.
    While it is not a critical issue, she likes to know how to get rid of them.

    Not as far I know, these were pictures sent to her as a regular e mail message. I will call her to make sure about that.

    Sorry for not closing this thread, She does not want to try the safe mode and will leave the icon as is.

    Booting into Safe Mode really doesn't take any effort to do but if your sister can live with the desktop icon being there then thats fine.
