Resolved Can no longer access Windows BBS in IE8

    When trying access Windows BBS/Windows XP in IE8 I am told "Forbidden You don't have permission to access /windows-xp/ on this server." If I try to access the home page I am told "Forbidden You don't have permission to access /error/noindex.html on this server." I can access both with Chrome or Firefox. Can anyone suggest why I can't with IE8? I wrote this in Firefox, but noticed that I can't underline, use italics or use bold. Very strange.

    Syncopator, you should now be able to access WindowsBBS.com with IE8. There was a configuration problem on our server, which in a few cases caused this problem. It has to do with the user-agent string of your version of IE.

    Yes, that's the first thing I do whenever I encounter similar problems.



    No. Once set, soon after installing a new version of IE, I don't fiddle with them. It had been working fine.
