Can MS Outlook be used on a network?

I have three different users using two networked PC's. One PC has a dialup connection. I would like any user to be able use either PC for email, but for each user to have the same inbox and contact list on either PC. Currently, I have the Outlook contact list and the user inboxes in the Shared Folder of the PC with the dialup connection. This works fine for that PC. All users share the same contact list and can access all the inboxes (that's what I want). But now I want the networked PC to be able to access that contact list and use those same inboxes. Is this possible? If so, how do I set up Outlook on the networked PC?

    Thanks for any response.

Roger - I think you can point to the shared items using a network address and have it work.

Can't test it right now since I'm on a domain and Outlook is working from an Exchange server so the setup is completely different.

I do have Outlook loaded at home (not in use but available) on both my PC and my wife's so I can set up a test environment there if no one else can give a solid answer.

Not before tomorrow night though. I'll check the thread when I get back from fishing tomorrow and if no answer, I'll set up and figure something out or figure out that it can't be done (but I really think it can).

Thanks, Newt, for your response. I forgot to say clearly that the three users on the dial up machine have their own inboxes within MS Outlook, but then I use message rules to copy incoming incoming messages to the folders within the Shared Folder. Those folders within the Shared Folder are used as Inboxes, even though they aren't the first place the messages come. The reason for that is that we only have one email address and messages come in addressed to one of the three people who are users. But each user sometimes checks the other inboxes in case a message gets misplaced. I know this seems cumbersome but it works and gives lots of flexibility and efficiency for each user.

Roger - if it works and the users don't scream, keep doing it.

I'll see what I can figure out about the other.
