    Hello,
Unfortunately a bad combination here for one of my friends' computers:

OLD computer (Pentium 1 200MHz or so)
OLD keyboard... OLD monitor... OLD CD drive...
    NEW mouse!

Its a laser mouse (Microsoft) and it has a wheel, but the wheel does not seem to work under Win95. Is there anyway she can get the wheel to work or would she have to upgrade to Win98?

    Thank you in advance!

Well, it's been a long time since I used 95 but it seems to me there was Intellipoint drivers available that would work with some apps. The catch was that the wheel would only work with MS apps (if I remember correctly). I have no idea what verion of Intellipoint you'd need but there are some 3rd party apps you can use. When I had 95 I use an app called Flywheel . It worked great and never gave me any trouble. While searching to find Flywheel, I also came across one called FreeWheel . I have never used it and have no idea how well it works. Thought I'd post it here anyway so you could take a look if you wanted.

    Mouse-Wheel on Win95

Try Driverguide.com. Use the basic search link on the left menu and enter your mouse specs. You will get a plethera of mouse drivers. MouseWheel 3.11
for example, I use with win95 with an MS IntelliMouse 1.2a PS/2. The only draw back on this site is you have to register to get the driver.
