I have a dual boot system with 98SE and XP Pro.
I use NS 4.79 on the 98SE OS and would like to use 7.01 on the XP side. I am not ready to transfer my mail to 7.01 and would like to access my mail from either 4.79 and 98SE (default at present) or 7.01 when I boot into XP.

This will save me from rebooting into 98 just to check my mail. My question is then whether it is possible to point 7.01 to the same mail folder that 4.79 is using? Will this work?

98SE and XP Pro are installe don different partitions on the same harddisk

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Jaws3,

I found this Netscape KB Article, which may give you some direction.
How do I share my E-Mail folder from a Windows partition with my Unix operating system on another partition?

I don't have a partitioned HD, so have no expertise in this area. There may be other users who can give you better direction.

EDIT: after more thought, some other options...

On a single partition HD, you can access your 4.79 Mail from 7.01. That is the kudo of being able to create multiple email accounts in 7.01.

On your XP partition you could create an account for the 4.79 Mail, using a unique Profile Name (not the Profile name you are using on 4.79).

On your 4.79 Mail, disable automatically downloading Mail, and do the same on your XP 7.01 Mail Account. Once you download Mail on one account, it will not be available on the other.

    OR

You could elect to hold your Mail on the Server...

    Ramona :D
