I have a laptop with my work account (email) on it. I don't like to receive email on the laptop, because I want to keep it all centrally located on my work machine.
Is there a way to send an email, without first opening OutLook Express and having it check, and receive mail automatically?

    Thanks,
    RPC

In the account setup, put an invalid server name in the pop3 box.

pop3.xxxx will do. It won't receive any email....

Click on tools/options and on the general tab uncheck the line that says send and receive messages at startup. Now, if you want to use it to send or receive an email and still be able to get the messages on the other puter, click on tools/accounts. Click once on the account name and then click on properties. On the advanced tab put a checkmark in the box next to the line that says leave a copy of messages on server.

This may not apply with a lap top, but I have two computers with one ISP and I accomplish what you want to do by working off line, compose the email, close outlook express and a message comes up telling me that I have unsent mail do you wish to go online and send. At this point it just sends, does not look for new mail.
