Can I remove the "_restore" directories?

I've got a clean Win ME install. Have disabled system restore and would like to remove the directories from the three hd's - 3 partitions on that box. Is this possible to do?

Marty--I believe when you disable System Restore and reboot, you will delete all past Restore Points.

If you want to create new Restore Points in the future, you must reenable System Restore.
In WinXP the Restore points (RPxxx files, where xxx stands for numbers) are kept in C:\System Volume Information\restore{followed by a string of numbers}. Perhaps the same in WinMe.
