Just curious... I ran across some code recently that implied that there were 32 valid drive letter values. If you eliminate "A" and "B" (for diskette drives), what values are valid (if any) other than "C" through "Z "

    Thanks!

For an English Language version you can only use C thru Z as far as I know.

Possible that a windows version for a language with a larger alphabet might use the additional letters for drives. Now that you've brought it up, I hope someone who knows the answer will chime in.

Cryllic, for instance, has 33 letters in the alphabet.

The Hanyu dacidian that came out recently in mainland China lists over 60,000 characters but I doubt you could map each of them as a drive letter.

    Interesting thought.

With Windows 2000 Server, the concept of mounting points came to windows. This is more akin to the Unix/Linux system of allowing you to mount file space within the directory tree. If you use mount points rather than drive letters, there is a lot more freedom, and you are not confinded to drive letters. However, you need to be careful - it could get very confusing.

Anyone know the limit on the number of mount points a Windows system can handle?

Thanks. I just might do some experimenting

I will have to do a little more research on this. Thanks for the input.
