For security purposes I'd like to have both a Standard user and an Admin user since I read that if you get hit with malware, they can do less damage as a Standard user.

Is it possible to do this while still staying on the same desktop ie 2 "users" and only 1 desktop as the Admin user would need access to the same desktop?

Guessing you are wanting two people - Rob and Mary for example to log into their own profile...but have the same icons on their desktops??

You could do that....but you'd have to do it while in the Admin profile... There is a folder \\Users\ALL Users\Desktop where you could copy the icons...

    Steve,

    Thanks for the response.

All I want is to use a Standard acct for daily activity and when I need to do admin activities, I'll switch to an admin acct. There is no 2nd person involved.

What's the easiest way to do that and can it be done without a "restart "?

I would use the log off feature. Log off one account and log back in as the other.
