Has anybody sent their .mov files ( from camera - mine is a Kodak Mc3 ) to their PC (successfully) then tried to send them back to the camera's Compact Flash card?
I wanted to do this but the camera didn't recognise the format, which I thought was strange since I had not ( deliberately ) changed them.

Have you tried using a card reader to transfer files back to the card. As Windows will see this as a drive there should be no problem in getting them onto the card. Whether on not the camers will then recognise them is a different matter.

It may be that there are other folders/files associated with the *.mov files as there are with jpegs and without these the camera will not recognize the *.mov files.

That's sort of the way my camera works. You can copy pictures to it all day in windows explorer and the camera won't see them unless they're in the proper folder on the card. The videos it takes are placed in the same folder. If I move them from the card to a hard drive and then move them back they'll show up in the camera as long as they're placed back in that folder or another folder that has the proper name format. For instance, the camera formats the card and puts a folder on the card named 100MLT12. If I want to make another folder on the card it has to be named 101MLT12 and the next one, 102MLT12 and so on. These all have to subfolders of another one DCIM. Any folder that doesn't follow this name format or isn't a subfolder of the DCIM folder doesn't show up in the camera. If you haven't tried it yet, try putting the video in a folder that's named according to how your camera names them.

Yes, I retrieve my .mov files when I click on DCIM. My video files are numerically ordered IE, VID_1234,VID_1235 etc., and are described as 'QuickTime Movies'.
I think by what you advise is that I should try to send the files back to my C/F card -- via the DCIM folder ?
I am not quite sure exactly what you mean.

My camera / file system works as Zander explained.
    Try this ...
Load one of your memory cards into your camera that you can delete off all graphic files. Now you have a empty folder on the card created by your camera. Put card into reader, should see a folder. Drag and drop your .mov file into the folder. Load card back into camera, camera should read the card and hopefully the file.

Have a look at the card in windows explorer. Is there a subfolder in the DCIM folder? If so, that's where you probably want to put the vids.

Yes, there is a sub-folder within the DCIM folder, and relying on memory, I believe it is MC100 (which is the last folder I click on to retrieve files from the camera). I DO think I have tried that, but I must try it again to see if it works.
Kodak has discontinued support on this, and sent me a protracted Fax telling me so. It would have been quicker for them to give me the answer!

Thanks again for your continued support.
