    I have 98SE and a Motorola SB4100 cable modem and I'm using
    Roadrunner cable service.

I keep getting dropped from my connection, and I have to unplug the modem, wait a couple of minutes, plug it back in.

    It's getting old fast...:D

Anyone have similiar problems and know a fix?

Type in 192.168.100.1 in your browser.
That will take you to the Motorola diagnostic page within your cable modem.
Go to the SIGNAL tab and copy down all the info there and post back.
Of particular importance will be :

    DOWNSTREAM:
Signal to noise ratio (in db)
    Power Level (in dbmillivolts)

    UPSTREAM:
    Power Level (dbmillivolts)

I was having the same problem with the SB4100.

TW changed it to a new RCA and no problems since.

Those values are within normal ranges.
Unlike BillyBob, my Motorola SB4100 has been flawless for the past 18 months with Comcast.
You might want to contact your ISP and explain your problem.

Thanks, I didn't want to say anything yet, at least for a few days. But, last night I decided to permit aka my firewall an
intrusion that I wasn't to sure about, that had tried to enter several time over the last few days.

It had .rr (roadrunner) in the info, but I didn't like the Windows Kernel Core Component part.

Anyway, I let it in last night and haven't had a dropped connection since (knocking on wood)

    Who's paranoid?...:D
