c000021a {fatal system error}

    I have been getting a blue screen when shutting down XP. It says:" stop: c000021a {fatal system error} The windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x00000000 0x00000000). The system has been shut down." I need to push the button to shut off the computer. When restarted, it does not have to scan the disk first.

    I also get a windows logon error just after choosing to shutdown with the option to end the program or cancel. Then the blue screen appears. Any ideas out there? Sallie
