I shy away from eBay except in circumstances where I just cannot find the item anywhere else or in cases where the new retail may cost many times more. I've just had too many bad experiences with wrong parts or defective parts. Example: I recently got two laptop display inverters. One was the wrong part and the other failed after two hours. They were ten-dollar items so not worth returning. Another experience was with a seller who would not respond to questions about shipping insurance for several days. I finally bought the item somewhere else and the seller posted bad feedback on me. Unfair! And all of these people had good ratings on e-Bay.

I got my last battery for my laptop and a spare charger from www.batt-depot.com. I went ahead and got the charger because it put my order over $100 which saved me shipping.

When purchasing a charger/adapter, it is important to get sufficient amperage/wattage rating. Some are rated simply in wattage and don't say much about amperage; but, that's okay as long as the wattage is sufficient. The higher the wattage/amperage, the better.

They will also be rated for a specific voltage output, which MUST match the voltage requirements for your notebook, or damage may occur. The current capability of the power supply will determine the wattage.
Well, that's true as long as the voltage remains the same. The Laws of Physics and specifically Ohm's Law and its derivatives come into play here. As long as the voltage is correct, a higher current capability will supply more watts, which translates to faster charge times.

Correction on the web address: www.battdepot.com

When ordering from battdepot, you order by laptop model number. When you key in your model, you'll be offered both a battery and a charger/adapter. No need to worry with the voltage, they match it up correctly for you.

But, I guess it doesn't hurt to recheck it.

It would be wise to verify.

Thanx, I was having a horrible time finding the right AC adapter for my laptop. HP's website was really bad. The website you posted was great.

And really expensive, too. The battery I got from battdepot was was under $75 and the one at HP's site was over $150, same amp rating. And after a few weeks of use, it has proven itself to have the same hours of run time so the quality seems to be equal.

The AC adapter/charger was also about half price.
