I have downloaded a movie through Limewire and cannot get it to burn. I have tried burning it through Nero with no success.

I have complted the Windows updates repairs and once it has complted its scan it asks me for a serial number...Not sure where to get that from. Also do I have to do all the suggestions that came back from my question.

First, downloading movies from Limewire is a bad idea....

Now to your question. To make a DVD (playable on a DVD player) you will need an authoring program. Nero Vision is the program that is capable of doing that. If Nero Vision is asking for a serial number, then it is a trail version or an OEM version with limited capabilities.

There are some freeware programs that are capable of authoring a DVD. DVD Flick comes to mind (its a little slow and resource hungry) and it works OK.

Another free program is DIVXTODVD 0.5.2. I had limited success with this program. Its still available for download at afterdawn.com.

One of the better programs I use (its NOT free) is TMPGEnc. This is an excellent authoring tool and it works extremely well.
