Burning an OS disk [ubuntu linux]

    ok this may not be the best place to post thins but he maybe someone will know.

    I have downloaded ubuntu linux in the form of a .rar and after I unzip it I can see a bunch of folders I was told to burn this to a disk but I am unsure of how to do so. If anyone has andy suggestions then please help me out.

    The Ubuntu website recommends downloading the iso version. Most CD burning software will create a CD directly from an iso image file.

    However, if you don't want to download the lot yourself again, this article might help you. It describes how to install ubuntu without burning a CD.

    Good luck. Ubuntu seems to be where it is happening in Linux land at the moment. A lot of my open source friends use it as the OS of choice. Linux is definitely worth playing with.
