Well, I was going to burn. I put the cd in and I pushed the button to make it go back in and it went in. But then it came right back out. SO I pressed the button to make it go back in again and it came out. It hasn't gotten back in yet without coming back out. When I click on my drive in MY computer and click explore on it.. it says "this device is not ready ".... So does anyone know what I can do... ? DO i need to reinstall the drive? If so.. how? THanks for your help. I have tried to restart a million times. However my drive (f) has yet to close. Does anyone know what to do?

    Burner drive not reading

I have a similar problem...my drive just wont read any discs at all. It opens and closes but that's it. I had it serviced by HP and they replaced the hard drive, claiming the cdrw read fine. I got it back and it did work, but failed me after a few discs were played.

Is this a faulty IDE Cable, motherboard, or an incorrect BIOS configuration? BTW= my BIOS revision was done on 9/11/01 but I doubt that has anything to do with it :)

Any info would be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks!
