Burn ISO, maybe convert HELP!!

HOW do i read/convert an ISO file I downloaded ???

"Maybe that's all i need "

I d/l a ISO of a operating system and need to convert it, so i can burn it to a CDR and install it....i'm not sure what the He** I need to do....i'm new at this stuff.
I have Nero 5.5 installed..if that's good.

I guess i need a good read about how to do this stuff

How do I read an ISO file...??

If i burn a downloaded ISO file to a blank CDR, i would assume i still can't read it...am i right or wrong..??
