Buddy.exe and hijackthis

Hi everyone, desperatly need help to remove buddy.exe that got installed by my teenage son by downloading morpheus. I have tried the methods I know and read about doing some reaserching over the net but onfortunately the thing comes back. What do I need to do to remove this? By the way I did uninstall morpheus (kids). Here's a post of the hijackthis log. Thankyou in advance for anyone's help.

Do you use Ad-Aware and Spybot ? if so what versions ?

Hi again, thank you for responding, I have not posted at any other forums as I'm not to familiar with all this (first timer). I have presently Ad-Aware SE version 1.05 with the updated definition file se1r28 16.02.05. I also have Spyblaster version 3.2 with database loaded 3/1/05. Also enclosed is the new Hijack this log. Hope you can help me rectify this Buddy.exe problem.

file location of buddy.exe

Hello again the file location for buddy.exe is in c:\windows and also what is speeryox.dll thatis in c:\windows, don't remember seing that file before. What is it I have to do?

Download Pocket Killbox.version 2.0.0.76
If you already have Killbox ensure it is this version
Unzip the contents of KillBox.zip to a convenient location.


Double-click on KillBox.exe.
Click "Delete on Reboot"
Copy/Paste this file into the top "Full Path of File to Delete" box.

C:\WINDOWS\SPEERYOX.DLL

Click the "Delete File" button which looks like a stop sign.
[8]Click "Yes" at the prompt.

Do that for each of these files one at a time.
C:\WINDOWS\buddy.exe

Exit killbox and restart your pc.

run hijackthis and fix just this item.
O2 - BHO: sPeerObj Class - {00000097-7C67-4BA6-8B42-05128941688A} - C:\WINDOWS\SPEERYOX.DLL (file missing)

Hi Lonny, I've been reading this thread and I too have similar problems. I currently run Spybot SD and the Adaware SE along with CWShredder. I have checked out your suggestion about Hijackthis and also the Pocket Killbox. Being reletively new to the computer world I sort of scared off from the Hijackthis. I also punched in Pocket Killbox in Google and came across several outfits to download it through. Am I being too paranoid about downloding these 2 programs? Thanks in advance for help.
