it may just be a coinceadence, but i doubt it. i tried to launch HL2, and BAM! A BSOD comes up. and this on a recent (very very recent) reformat, upgrade, and stuff. i suspect a driver issue, and it said IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (or w/e the letters are)

please help, i never got this on my old one!

happened again. while a game was running, but in the backround. i was trying to end it via Task Manager, and alt-tab back into it, but i just got a BSOD randomly. i made it make a Kernel Dump Log, so ill post that here.
oh, i really think it's my sound and video drivers, but i'll wait for a response.

and ill be using mini dump logs for now on.

i tried the program, but no DOS windows came up. at all.

Read the instructions carefully and ensure that you have followed each to the letter. If necessary download the items specified again.

Youe log has a symbol problem - you must be connected to the internet while debugging.

Uninstall the card in Device Manager and uninstall the software, if any through Add/Remove Programs. Reboot - Windows will detect the card and then load the software and drivers.

Alternatively go to Device Manager and locate your card - right click > Properties > Driver > Roll back driver/Update driver.

okay, i've reinstalled them for the umpteenth time. it looks like the drivers themselves are operational. dxdiag detects them, Device Manager detects them, but, the sound still doesnt work! the sound ONLY works in an app for the stupid chip itself. nowhere else at all. not in windows, not in games, not in dxdiag, nowhere, except one app for the device. help.

Check that the sound is not muted. If that does not help make a System Restore back to just before you reinstalled the drivers the first time.

Your debug report is the user.dmp and not the minidump. Minidump is used for diagnostic BSOD problem and user.dmp is used for diagnostic application problem. You can find the minidump at the folder \windows\minidumps
