Starting today when I tried to run Everquest2, and again after a restart when running PCcillin internet security, I got a BSOD. I was unable to write down all the error message on screen but I did get this:

A problem has been detected and windos has been shut down.

Missed a paragraph or two here as I skipped right to writing down the array of numbers given below.

    STOP 0x000000D1 (0x00000014, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x80725526)
    nvstor32.sys - Address something something

The computer restarts itself before I can write the rest down and it hasn't done it yet on this third start up.

I googled it, naturally and found this site and several posts. I downloaded and installed the debugwiz but I can not find ANY dmp files on my system, even after having set the folder options to be able to see hidden AND system files, I just can't find them anywhere.

Also during my google adventures I found several other people citing fixes that worked for them but I'm reluctant to try any of them yet for fear of screwing up my system more. I have been experience system hang about a minute or so after windows loads up for the past 2 months or so as well. Not sure if that's a symptom of something as well.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

nvstor32.sys is your NVIDIA nForce(TM) SATA Driver - I suggest you reload/update your chipset drivers.

Did you follow these instructions re. restart, etc .....
Did you search for *.dmp files?

Just set it to not restart now, but it was already set for the kernel memory dump. And I did search for *.dmp, then did an advanced search with the option for index system and hidden files checked and still didn't turn up a single .dmp file. Not sure what gives.

If the computer is set to automatically restart on system failure no dump file will be produced - that is the default setting.

However your post clearly pointed to the culprit file and my advice remains unchanged :)

Indexing does not include system "places" by default. Go to Start -> Computer, open the C: (Windows) drive and go to the search bar there.
